Most of us desire to live our lives with a sense of confidence, a sense of purpose, and a sense of closeness with others, but difficult life experiences can lead us to build walls for protection and safety, and as a result, we can lose our sense of connection with ourselves and others. If you are here, it is likely you are feeling some combination of lost, alone, stuck, anxious, confused, frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, worried, panicked, low, sad and/or depressed. We can work together to help you manage and understand these emotions and to bring your awareness to the parts of you that have been lost or stuck so we can move you toward leading the life you desire.
I completed my Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I have nine years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults in various capacities, including as a Counsellor, Behaviour Interventionist, Educational Assistant, and Distress Services Volunteer with the Crisis and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC. In these roles, I have gained experience in working with grief & loss, identity confusion, life transitions, self-esteem, stress and anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship conflict, suicidality, and developmental disabilities.
In our work together, my priority is to create a safe space where you feel fully welcomed, accepted, and able to begin connecting with your most authentic self. My approach is relational and experiential, which means I strive to create an environment that feels safe and free from shame and judgment, so you can access your internal experience for growth and healing. I have training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) for individuals and couples, and I am a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist. I have additional training in play and sand tray therapy, focusing-oriented therapy, and I utilize CBT, DBT, and mindfulness when appropriate.
To journey with my clients in their pursuits of healing and self-discovery is truly a gift that fills me with great joy and meaning, and it would be an honour to accompany you on your journey.
